I hope everyone had a joyful holiday season (in spite of the circumstances) and you all stayed safe and healthy. I’ve been MIA because I just returned from a family vacation in Hawaii which I will post about later this week and talk more about why we felt safe making this journey.
This post is a round up of some of my own personal favorites from 2020 mixed in with some fan favorites as determined by popularity on Pinterest & Instagram. It wasn’t an easy year to find fashion inspiration since the extent of getting dressed up was for the odd gathering with one or two friends and a dinner out when restaurants were still allowing eat in.
This monochrome look is from last January and was a big hit on my Instagram feed. I typically opt for a fair amount of color in my outfits but all the different textures make up for it in this post holiday look.

This outfit which was posted in March is still from the pre-covid lockdown era and is another look with no pops of color, however, the accessory game here is strong with the very bold belt and it marks the beginning stages of my obsession with chunky chain necklaces.

Pastels are usually not something I gravitate towards but this sweater in baby pink was too delicious to pass up and I love the way it looked with all the other white pieces. Also these slouchy pants are so good, can’t wait to pull them out again this spring!

Ok finally getting into some color here, ok so it’s a LOT of color… quite honestly this is probably more color than I usually do but it all went together so well and the neutral beige hat, straw bag and gold heels toned things down… just a little bit.

This look is from April which was just a few weeks into Covid but the comfort dressing was already kicking in. Tie dye was a big trend this year and I embraced it with very open arms. This crop top is a muted version of the typically bright, bold pattern loved by hippies and I adore how perfectly it went with these super soft wide leg denim jeans.

This outfit is definitely on my personal G.O.A.T. list and the fact that I had nowhere to wear it other then the grocery store or post office was heartbreaking. Maybe I can break it out after Covid and no one will notice. I did bring the skirt to Hawaii with me and wore it to dinner which made me very happy.

I clearly have a thing for the pouf sleeve, this look is one of countless puffy sleeve looks from this year and I hope the trend continues on in 2021. I also love how well these unexpected colors look together and it seems my readers do too since this was one of my most re-pinned posts on Pinterest last year.

I was really surprised by how much love this look got when I posted it on Instagram. I have always loved a menswear inspired look but didn’t realize how much you all did too, and quite frankly the shoes are so much more comfortable.

I was told by a few readers that I must have been having a Carrie Bradshaw moment when styling this outfit and I don’t deny it at all. The tulle skirt and rhinestone encrusted satin heels definitely have a Sex & the City vibe and it all was a kick off to my holiday looks for the season.

I started and ended the year off with monochrome looks and they both got a lot of love, maybe it’s a sign to go color free in the New Year? It’s a thought but I doubt it’ll happen. I hope you enjoyed this little rewind through 2020 which reminds me that the year wasn’t all bad, life is what we make it right?
Wishing you all the best in the coming year so excited for all the good things to come!
