Borrowed From The Boys, Oxfords & Plaid.

Growing up with an older brother I’ve always had a propensity for wearing “boyswear” My mom will attest to the fact that I refused to wear dresses as a little girl which broke her feminine heart especially when she had custom dresses made for me, I would kick and scream if she tried to get me to put one on. Jeans, sneakers and tee-shirts were my clothing items of choice and although I did grow out of this phase I still have a soft spot for borrowed-from-the boys-attire. These shiny oxfords from Linea Paolo are a girlier version of the classic shoe. The slightly higher heel and narrower toe makes them perfect to wear with tights and dress, loose pants or a pair of knickers like I did here. I love the length of these pants they are reminiscent of a boys school uniform but obviously way cuter, and topping them with a plunging neckline sweater (bodysuit) gives it that little bit of heat this look needs to offset the masculine pieces.

Things have finally cooled down around here this week and I’m loving it. We’ve been waking up to gloomy, foggy mornings and I feel I actually need to put on a jacket when I leave the house. This plaid fringed coat has been seen here a few times now (here & here) and don’t be surprised if it shows up many more times before the season is over because I absolutely love it, aside from being so chic it’s the perfect weight for autumn in LA.
