One of my favorite things about living in California is the diversity of the landscape. There is never a lack of places to enjoy and discover. Ive been living here 20+ years and had never visited Lake Arrowhead up until last year during Covid as a day trip to the snow. We did it again this winter and decided we had to come check it out in the warmer months and stay longer, it’s only a 1.5 hour drive from Los Angeles but it is an entirely different world with so much to do, see and eat.
Without question The Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa is the place to stay when visiting this charming lakeside town. I discovered that Lake Arrowhead is a private lake therefore you cant access it unless you have private property, patronize one of two beach clubs or stay at Lake Arrowhead Resort. I love the outdoors but I also love having all the amenities of a resort hotel like a luxury spa, fine dining, a pool and jacuzzi and a private beach.
Lake Arrowhead Resort is a quick drive to Jetties, my favorite new eatery in Arrowhead Village. We ate here when we visited earlier this year and knew we had to come back for the Peach burrata salad, poke nachos and of course the fabulous view of the lake.
Skypark at Santa’s Village is a must when visiting the Lake Arrowhead area especially if you have a teenage boy. We spent the day mountain biking which is both exhausting and exhilarating. The whole park is Santa Claus themed and yes, there we some Santa sightings while we were there. With adventure activities like zip-lining, go carts, rock wall climbing etc. it makes for a very fun day!
After a long day of biking, a dip in the jacuzzi was in order. After relaxing our sore bike riding muscles we headed down to Bin 189 in the lobby of the hotel for some wine and appetizers before dinner. This shot is in the private event space, as you can see Im in my element surrounded by wine.
With an amazing cocktail menu and diverse dinner options it was tough to decide- I can live off a good cheese board but I did opt for some wonderful salmon for dinner – Chef Heath came out for a chat to make sure we were all happy with our meals which we most certainly were!
We ended our evening watching the sun set (after 8:00 PM ) and headed back to our cozy room for an early night in – we had a kayak tour of the lake lined up in the morning!
I am a lover of lake life and Lake Arrowhead captures it perfectly – if you’re looking for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of life I cant recommend Lake Arrowhead Resort enough.
Thanks for reading, have a safe and fabulous long weekend!
