Back to the grind after a whimsical weekend of foreign films and butterflies! Following a late night of hosting the Croatian film festival on Saturday, my husband and I took our little guy and his friend to the Bug Fair at the Natural History Museum yesterday. We knew going in our insect obsessed boy would be coming home with a new family member and we are now the proud owners of a Desert Millipede…a fascinating little creature. We did a little tour through the Butterfly Pavilion, hundreds of butterflies of all varieties all around; its quite magical to have all these lovely colorful creatures flying past or even landing on you. Of course my thoughts wandered to fashion and I couldn’t help but imagine dress fabrics made from the amazing prints and patterns these butterflies are adorned with, this skirt reminds me of some of what I saw yesterday. A perfect example of life imitating art, those butterflies really are little works of genius!
