Ojai Escape.

Breaking away from my usual weekday schedule and spending the day with my bestie in Ojai, CA, felt like pure magic. We started with a slow morning stopping for iced matcha for the short 80 minute road trip. Once we arrived in this charming little town just north of LA, we went straight to downtown for lunch at the outdoor patio at The Dutchess for a light bite.

We wandered through town after lunch, ducking into charming boutiques, picking up handmade candles, vintage finds, and a few too many snacks. Languidly shopping without a goal is not something I have time to do anymore so this was such a treat.

Late morning turned into wine o’clock as we headed to the Ojai Valley Inn, quite honestly my favorite place in Ojai. My husband and I have spent many weekends here celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and even 4th of July.  Sipping on chilled rosé for me (tequila for Tracy) while laughing about everything and nothing.

Core memories with one of my favorite people.

We wandered around the expansive grounds enjoying the beautiful landscape and magical tranquility. Just as the sun was beginning to set, we found a perfect table at the restaurant to watch the sky turn cotton candy pink and gold with our glasses in hand and hearts full. There’s a certain magic to Ojai that I can’t explain—and sharing it with your best friend makes it unforgettable. I definitely see another Ojai escape in our very near future!
