Fall in California is unfortunately synonymous with strong winds, excessive heat and destructive wildfires more so than cool, crisp air and colored leaves on the ground. Fortunately for the the firefighters as well as us fashion girls who’s favorite season is fall, the temperatures are finally starting to drop and it’s feeling somewhat like fall around here. I actually wore a sweater all day yesterday and put my son in long pants for the first time this season which has me very excited about the prospect of finally getting to wear this faux fur jacket. I am so thrilled that faux fur is such a popular trend as you may know I am a long time vegetarian and I do it out of compassion for animals not health or cultural reasons. I try to avoid wearing any animal products although I admittedly blow it when it comes to shoes and bags. This is a very weak justification but most leather skins come after an animal is killed for its meat, if this wasn’t the case I probably wouldn’t wear as much. I am always looking for unique animal prints to incorporate into my outfits and this fabulous snow leopard print is definitely a new one for me. I love the colors (or lack thereof) black and white will go with just about anything I wear this season including stripes and a ruffled print skirt.
I hope you made it through your Monday without any hiccups and are as excited about getting closer to Halloween as I am. We go pretty crazy here for this particular creepy holiday and end up having a trick or treat party at our place every year. I am hoping to get a video up on my Youtube/IGTV this week of how we decorate so please keep a lookout.
Thanks for stopping by, xoxo ~Zia
