LA Strong

I don’t typically post athleisure wear looks on my blog but this is more than just a typical blog post – it’s a love letter to the city I’ve called home for over 2o years. Los Angeles has endured some major hardships through the years but in my experience nothing compares to the brutal effects of the recent wildfires that destroyed two entire communities. I don’t think theres anyone in LA who doesn’t know at least one person who was directly affected by the fires, we have several friends who’s home or businesses were burned to the ground.

I talked last month about my volunteer work at donation centers and fostering a puppy to help with fire victims but wanted to keep the momentum going – so when Fanatics reached out with an opportunity to spread the word about their LA Strong tshirt and hoodies I knew I wanted to be a part of it. All proceeds from the sales of the LA Strong items go to help the wildfire victims! You can choose your favorite Los Angeles based sports team for your hoodie along with the color – I went with the Dodgers because baseball is the only team sport I really played when I was a kid and I do love the classic logo.

I knew I wanted to shoot this look somewhere iconic and what says LA more than palm trees and a busy freeway? Im so thrilled with the results and I couldn’t have done it without my friend and photographer Silas, who’s always up for a creative adventure!
