Sin City: the place you can’t not have fun (sorry for the double negative just trying to be emphatic) My recent trip to Las Vegas was the funnest (yes funnest is a word) weekend I’ve had well since the last time I was in Vegas. My husband and I stayed at the recently remodeled Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino (formerly the legendary Las Vegas Hilton) It still has that old school Vegas vibe that made it famous in the late 60’s & 70’s when stars like Elvis, Ann Margaret and Barbara Streisand were performing there nightly.
The current legends you can catch on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas are crooner Barry Manilow and comedian George Wallace who had us in constant stitches the night we saw him. Mr Wallace’s show is such a fun way to get your night started, his comedy is clean and delightful and one of the most reasonably priced shows in Las Vegas you may just want to check it out more that once. One of my other favorite things about Vegas other than being able to get away with wearing a floor length sequin gown all over town is the fabulous restaurants.
Las Vegas used to be notorious for offering nothing more than bad buffets but is now a hotbed of incredible restaurants. The Edge Steakhouse arguably one of the best steakhouses in Las Vegas, is right in the lobby of the Westgate Hotel served up one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. And don’t let the name fool you it is a steakhouse but the fact that I’m not a meat eater was not an issue. Chef Steve Young prepared a selection of pescatarian friendly options such as seared scallops, roasted beet salad, creamed spinach and spicy shrimp. Needless to say we were way too full for dessert but of course we regretted skipping it later.
After a full night in the casino we were very ready for a day at the spa. The Serenity Spa at Westgate is located on the third level pool deck and has separate men’s and women’s facilities with two Jacuzzis, steam room and sauna. My husband and I were both treated to the muscle melt massages and this massage ranks in my top five best massages ever, I can’t wait to go back for another!
I hope you enjoyed a peek into my adults only getaway to Las Vegas. My husband and I had such a good time reconnecting, relaxing and yes, overindulging even if we were up until 3:00 AM every night, but that’s why they call it Sin City right? !

THANK YOU WESTGATE VEGAS RESORT & CASINO FOR HOSTING THIS FABULOUS WEEKEND!

Who goes to bed before 3am in Vegas is my questions — floor length gown is stunning and love the old school vibe of the Westgate!
Thanks Tillie, it’s definitely hard to go to bed earlier than 3AM no matter how tired you are! xo ~Zia
