Palm Desert Getaway

January was an extremely challenging month, so when JW Marriott Desert Springs invited me out to the desert to enjoy a few days of rest, relaxation and recalibration I immediately responded with an emphatic “yes, please, absolutely, one hundred percent!!” I was super excited to find out several of my close influencer pals were also invited so we made it a girls road trip – there’s really nothing better than a mid-week getaway with the girls.

Night number one we were treated to a boat ride through the lagoon – something you can make a reservation with the concierge to enjoy – definitely a very unique experience in the desert. We were whisked away in our little boats to a private kitchen for a viral recipe inspired dinner which included baked feta pasta, brie smores and Dubai bars.

The next day after sleeping in late we had a long & relaxing morning starting with a healthy brunch leading us up to our spa treatments in one of California’s largest spas. I opted for the 60 minute deep tissue massage after 45 minutes in a massage chair so I was extra relaxed before getting in some pooltime at one of five pools on the property. All this downtime got me ready for an afternoon of shopping and dinner on El Paseo one of my favorite things to do in the desert.

The El Paseo Shopping District is jam packed with amazing boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries.  I always make sure to pop in to Trina Turk for quintessential desert style, House of Lolo for the newest trends and Arhaus for home decor.

Over the years, I’ve definitely developed a deep appreciation for desert life. I have always considered myself more of a beach or mountains kind of girl, but there’s something undeniably magical about the Palm Springs and Coachella Valley area. Whether you’re drawn to the energy of world-class music festivals, the charm of boutique shopping, the thrill of the casinos, or the rich history of mid-century modern architecture, there’s something for everyone. And if your idea of the perfect getaway is simply basking in the golden desert sun with a cocktail in hand, you’ll be right at home. The desert has a way of captivating you and I’m officially hooked!
