I have lived ALL over the LA area in the years since I moved here, everywhere from Newport Beach, to Hollywood, to Silver Lake. No matter where I lived I ended up spending a lot of time in Burbank due to multiple reasons but mostly my career (many of the studios, casting offices, agencies, acting coaches are in the Burbank area). We were living in Silver Lake when we first started house hunting and wanted to stay there but when I found out I was pregnant we immediately switched our focus to Burbank. I wanted to be somewhere where I know the police will show up when you call, the streets are clean and the schools are some of the best in the state…and it doesn’t hurt that its actually closer to Hollywood than SL is which is important to me because I loathe driving in traffic. Most of my favorite things about LA are within 10 minutes of my house: The Hollywood Bowl, Griffith Park and my new fave the LA River bike path. Another selling point for me was that I could walk to anything I need from my house and when you have a new baby that is mandatory, nothing worse than having to pull a baby in and out of a car seat and stroller. My immediate neighborhood, Magnolia Park, has become a bit of a hipster scene with tons of vintage stores, (way too many) hair salons and great cafes popping up all over. While most of my blog posts are photographed in this neighborhood, this last shoot my super talented photographer Silas, who is also a Burbank resident, took me to this amazing spot closer to downtown Burbank. I loved these shots the moment I saw them and was immediately compelled to write a little bit about the community that I love so much, I’m finally able to call LA my home!
