Working The Menswear Trend With Chicos.

Fall for me is all about layers, and nothing layers better than menswear inspired pieces like a classic white button-down shirt and crew neck wool sweater. I picked these pieces up from Chico’s which is fully stocked with all the menswear pieces you need for fall. This grey overcoat from Chico’s latest collection is embellished with pearls adding a ladylike feel to an otherwise classic style and to pull it all together I’ve added some sweet pearl drop earrings. I wanted to give the look a sleek almost 60’s vibe with stovepipe plaid pants and a low-slung belt. These pants are going to be on major rotation this fall, they are so flattering, I got several compliments on them just while on this photo shoot. I’m also planning on wearing them with a band tee and leather jacket for a whole other tomboy look.

To avoid looking too masculine I chose a lilac hued sweater its a fresh feminine color that’s very big right now. I also love that headbands are such a huge trend this year not only do they cover up a bad hair day for us busy working girls but they add a soft and feminine touch to a structured masculine look.  All these pieces are clearly “borrowed from the boys” but have more of a self-employed girl boss feel than stuffy corporate office vibe but the best thing about them is they’re classics and will never really go out of style, you’ll just be adding to your life long collection of go-to pieces.
