Black Tailored Vest, White Shorts.

As much as I would love to start wearing over the knee boots, chunky knits and leather (vegan of course) the weather in Southern California will not be cooperating for quite some time – so I’m investing in good transitional (sorry I know the term is so overused this time of year) pieces like this black tailored vest. Worn open over a bra top with shorts, it definitely gives summer vibes but in a couple of months I will be layering this vest up over a sheer blouse or buttoning it up and throwing a blazer on top.

This bra top has been working overtime this summer I wore it with a pant suit here & on the beach in Croatia see here I love the extra strap it has so it doesn’t look like it’s just a bra and makes it outerwear appropriate, well in my opinion it does. I have plans for these shorts for when there is a slight temperature drop – whites are typically hard to get a perfect match but these actually work seamlessly with a blazer I have for a match set, I will break it up with some black just so it’s not obvious in any way they are not meant to be together.

So this is unofficially the last week of summer – Labor Day Weekend is coming up which at least mentally puts us into fall. How are you spending the last bit of summer? We are hosting a little BBQ since we did so much traveling this summer (my boys were in Alaska after I got back from Croatia) so it felt like we never had a weekend with everyone together at once. Fortunately for us the heat wave we’re currently experiencing will be taking a break on the weekend! Thanks for popping in and enjoy whats left of summer xoxo ~Zia
