Where I come from this thing on my head is called a Toque. It’s derived from a French word so naturally it sounds fashionable (much more so than the utilitarian sounding “beanie”). Having grown up in Canada I was forced to wear them throughout the winter for practical reasons, e.g. keeping my head warm in sub zero temperatures, rather than to look on trend. Call it whatever you like the knit cap has always been a staple in my winter wardrobe and I’m glad they actually have some fashion cred now! (did I just use the word “cred”??)
