Denim Maxi Skirt x Denim Jacket.

I am indeed guilty of missing a post this week but with very good reason: I was celebrating Women’s History Month with my Lexus family down in San Diego. Along with several other Southern California influencers I toured the Women’s Museum of California where we learned so much about how far we females have come thanks to so many strong women before us.  Without these badass ladies we would not be wearing denim maxi skirts (or any other denim) or have pockets on our clothes (for fear of us carrying small weapons or poison) so grateful to these women and those of us who continue to fight for equal pay, control over our bodies and eradicating sexual harassment among other issues we continue to face.

I have a photo from the 90s of me and a friend wearing head to toe denim with a splash of leather to celebrate our birthdays which are two days apart – I will dig it up someday for you all to see but this look reminds me of that outfit so much. In the photo I am wearing a denim maxi skirt, platform boots, a denim shirt and black leather vest. My friend Jason was in jeans, denim shirt and leather jacket and no I swear we did not coordinate our looks in advance, the point being that denim on denim and black accents was THE only thing to be wearing in the mid 90s and it’s certainly making a comeback right now. I searched high and low for the denim maxi that was most like the one I had in my 20s and the one I have linked below is pretty spot on and well priced.

With my little mid week staycation breaking it up, this week went by so fast – Im fighting a little cold so I will be keeping this weekend very low key. Have a great one – Zia x
