When I posted this polka dot skirt and lace up crop top look on my social channels last week I had an old high school friend commented that this look was as if 80’s pop and 80’s metal had a love child which I absolutely loved! I didn’t see the heavy metal vibes in the top until she mentioned it but the lace up, cropped details are very much what the video vixens of that era were wearing and truth be told what I aspired to wear if my mother didn’t have something to say about it! Polka dots also conjure up images of 80s style but definitely the sweeter Cyndi Lauper type images and I absolutely love the blending of both. I’m really into the chunky purse strap trend happening right now clearly inspired by Bottega Veneta, and Studio 33 bags have a great selection of them at a much more wallet friendly price. I’ve picked up at least three this summer in different colors at Shopbop, and this one is linked below.
I have so much content to catch up on right now that I have three posts for you this week. Putting up three blog posts every week was my regular schedule for at least 5 years, which I can’t believe as it’s extremely time consuming and I do everything without an assistant! Alas, I currently have a little more time on my hands thanks to covid so I hope you’ll pop back in Friday, I’m posting one of my favorite looks of ALL time!
Happy Hump Day loves! xo ~Zia
