Midweek Staycation, Westlake Village Inn.

We have so many amazing options for quick getaways here in California with mountains, desert and beaches in all directions there is almost no excuse not to take a break from your everyday life, which is exactly what we did last week. On a random Wednesday we dropped all of our daily tasks and packed up the car for a quick 45 minute drive to stunningly beautiful Westlake Village Inn.

This magnificent resort just outside of Los Angeles has you feeling like you were transported to Tuscany with the Spanish style villas, gazebos, endless gardens and water fountains everywhere. There is even an on site vineyard where you can do tastings and order fresh pizza from the blazing outdoor pizza oven. Aside from mandatory time spent laying out by the pool, there is also a golf course and spa for the ultimate in pampering and self care.

Our dinner at one of several on site restaurants, Mediterraneo was one of the best pasta dinners I’ve had in a very long time, probably since I was last in Italy. Overlooking the lake (yes there is a lake at the resort) this fine dining restaurant had so many delicious items on the menu we couldn’t decide on just one so we ordered several different dishes and ate family style. Never one to pass up desert even though we were too full, we took it to go and ate it later in the comfort of our villa.

We were undoubtedly spoiled by our deluxe villa with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and fireplace in the living room, however, it was the private jacuzzi overlooking the pool deck that really wowed us. Having a hot tub to ourselves was such a treat especially during the Covid era we felt so much more comfortable soaking privately.

This amazing little break from life was much needed and felt so good. I love knowing we have this little oasis so close to home anytime we need to get away from it all! I hope you find some time to take a break with your family this summer and I highly recommend Westlake Village Inn if you’re in the Los Angeles area!
