Pink Sweater Set, Split Front Pants.

Between the incessant rain here in California and being out of town attending a fashion convention I have definitely been neglecting my beloved blog. Fortunately I shot this pink sweater set outfit before I went away for the holidays – I chose to wear this set layered over a white button down to make it a workplace as well as winter appropriate outfit. Its really cute without anything underneath as well and love that you can remove the shrug piece and throw it over your shoulders for a preppy vibe. The split front pant has been a trend for the past year or so and seems to be holding strong. They’re a fun twist on the standard black pant so if you have a dress code at the office these work great to add to your office wardrobe. I love mine with heels but also wear them with sneakers for a more casual look.

Most you probably already know I have a background in finance and have a side hustle as a bookkeeper/tax adviser. With this knowledge I try to set new intentions each year for our finances. Last year we made sure to create a living trust to protect our assets, our son and to relieve our family of the burden of dealing with what we may or may not have wanted. While I was home for Christmas there was a lot of discussion regarding wills, trusts and life insurance – conversations we don’t necessarily want to have but at certain point in life it is necessary to get your ducks in a row and make sure your loved ones will be taken care of. My husband is the main income provider in the family so it makes sense that we have a life insurance policy for him. To make things easy and cheap we went with a no medical exam policy with Fabric by Gerber Life. Now we feel secure knowing we will be financially safe and sound should anything unthinkable happen – feeling that sense of financial security is a great way to start out a new year.
