When I was in college a friend of mine gave me a sewing machine and being the true fashion lover that I am, I taught myself to use it. Along with a multitude of basic skirts one of the first things I made with my newly acquired machine was a scarf top. They were very on trend at the time (think late 90’s) I got fancy and added beaded fringe to the edges and a strap to avoid any accidents. If only I knew how easy it would have been to go to a thrift store to purchase a fabulous vintage scarf and just tie it on! I found this Versace inspired scarf top at Princess Polly and when the trend of wearing it as a top is over I will simply use it as it was originally intended.
My husband does a lot of shopping in his line of work and I occasionally reap the benefits of his keen eye for vintage. A few weeks back he came home with a stack of fashion magazines from the 80’s, vintage cameras and these fab Italian sunnies. They’re definitely not your everyday sunglasses but if you’re feeling a little outrageous then this is your pair! I wish I could have found something similar to link to, alas they are extremely unique and that is the beauty of vintage!
I am prepping for New York to attend SS20 fashion week and I have my mind on fall fashion in a big way. This is the time of year where things get a bit confusing since summer is almost over but it remains very hot here in LA. I will be sprinkling a few fall looks in over the next few weeks because I cant help myself but will keep summer going as long as I can!
