Spotted Slip Skirt, Crop Top.

I had this post ready to go weeks ago but somehow it got lost in the shuffle of getting ready for our trip to Lake Tahoe (see here) But fortunately it’s not too late to be sharing this perfect summer look with a slinky, spotted slip skirt paired with a one shoulder crop top and ankle wrap sandals.  This skirt from cool girl designer Anine Bing is well worth the cost since I’ll be wearing it throughout the fall with chunky sweaters or with band tees and denim jackets. We are experiencing a major heat wave right now but that’s not keeping me from longing for fall fashion already.  I’ve said it a million times, but I love the cooler days, wearing warm knits and afternoon tea… also boots are my favorite footwear, aside from not having to keep your pedicure perfect all the time they are so much easier on your feet than summer sandals.

I’m going to get off the topic of fall now and tell you about my weekend which actually felt like a normal summer weekend. We had some family over for a BBQ on Saturday which included several margaritas, a lot of laughs and went well into the night. Yesterday we packed up the car and spent the day at the beach to get away from the extreme heat (read: 102 Degrees) . The ocean water in Southern California is usually really cold but after a week of high temps it was really lovely and perfect for some body surfing.
