There is no season that excites me about fabrics and textures quite like fall. All those warm chunky knits, classic tweeds, smooth suede and my favorite: luscious velvet. The look and feel of velvet is so luxurious and the depth of the fabric makes the colors so rich and beautiful, If its good enough for royalty then Id say that makes it ideal for the holidays but also perfect for everyday dressing. My last look with Hale Bob (who designs the most gorgeous velvet pieces) featured a velvet burn out dress which will be worn to many a holiday party and this super soft velvet off shoulder top can also take me to a fancy night out or worn with jeans like in this post is perfect for a coffee date! I quite frankly love velvet so much I want to wear it while lounging around the house, perhaps its time for some velvet jammies? Since I’m on the topic of fall fabrics I am happy to report that it has been grey and chilly here in LA the past several days and all my hats and cardigans and boots and coats have been coming out and my afternoon tea ritual is soon to follow!
Hope you all had a super fun Halloween and aren’t still crying after the Dodger loss last night (I have a pretty upset boy in my household, actually make that two) One more day till Friday, lets do this…. xo ~Zia
