Happy New Year and welcome back! As soon as I saw this white vegan leather pant suit from the new Milly NY resort collection I knew I had to have it and I also knew I wanted to shoot it in the snow. This was shot at Lake Louise in the Banff National Park while I was home for Christmas last week. If you have never been do yourself a huge favor and put it on your bucket list. Its such a quick flight from the LA area (2.5 hours) and another 1 and half hour drive from Calgary. It is truly the winter wonderland of your dreams with horse drawn carriage rides, ice skating, ice sculptures and my favorite: The Ice Bar where you can order a hot wine, toddy, or boozy hot chocolate! Ok back to the outfit – the pants are lined which makes them ideal for colder temps, I actually went sledding – or tobogganing as we Canadians call it – in these after this shoot. They’re made from the softest, most buttery vegan leather you can hardly tell its not the real deal. The sweater is also Milly and on crazy sale, I have it in several colors you may remember it from this look Its the perfect combo of sexy V-neck sweater and turtleneck, grab one while you can – linked below.
Many, many years ago when I was still living in Vancouver, I was unhappy with the direction my life was headed in. I woke up New Years Day and decided to the annual “Polar Bear Plunge” which as you might imagine is a quick dip in the icy waters to cleanse yourself of the previous year. It was brutal but exhilarating and actually changed the course of my life. A few days later I applied for admission to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts which I was accepted to and moved to Los Angeles and the rest is basically history. So since then I love starting out the new year with a ceremonial fresh start – yesterday we went for a hike to a local water fall which was gushing with water due to the wet weather we’ve been having and it also rained while we hiked so it truly felt like cleanse. Do you have any New Year rituals?
Wishing you all the best of everything in the coming year – giant hugs and kisses of appreciation,
